Sziget Festival 2011 announces first bands

The 19th Sziget Festival has now made their first announcements. Organised from 10th to 15th August Sziget welcomes fans to the exciting island of Óbudai in the middle of Budapest to have the full experience of music, theatre and art.

The first announcement make promises of great live shows as the legendary British Pulp return to stage in their classic line-up after a long period of silence. Metal giants Motörhead and Judas Priest will be taking over the The Metal Main Stage. American indie rock bands Interpol and The National aswell Brittish rock band Skunk Anansie will definetely be one of the most expected shows. One of the festivals most interesting shows might offer the finest musicians of Mali and Cuba as AfroCubism rise on stage. Finnish knowhow is represented by power-metal group Sonata Arctica.
The festival also offers other great bands such as The Chemical Brothers, Dizzee Rascal, Marina and The Diamonds, Gogol Bordello, Flogging Molly, Gotan Project, Crystal Castles, Goran Bregovic & Wedding And Funeral Band, Rise Against, Ojos de Brujo and many other great artists. More announcement will be made later.

This year Sziget offers also a new stage, Europa Stage, for new upcoming Europian bands. Metal fans will get Metal Main Stage that present rock and metal acts in an open-air scenery. In addition to great bands Sziget also offers other cultural experiences from circus to dance. In the past years the island of tens of venues has offered a wedding chappel, paintball arena, amusement park, open air cinema, roller rink and many restaurants, coffee shops, clubs and shops. The festival offers loads to see and to do and the massive program impresses even an exprienced festivalgoer.

Festival ticket prices rise from April 16th.
Participants under 14 with a guardian. Participants under 11 years free entry.
