We are thrilled to present the 4th edition of the Fiskars Summer Festival, which takes place from 31st July to 6th August 2023!
Our popular Chamber Music Series will take place in a number of evocative spaces around Fiskars Village – Makasiini, Veitsitehdas, KWUM Gallery and Lukaali, and will feature our own Lead! Soloists – a group of outstanding young musicians and their internationally-renowned mentors. These intimate concerts are rich in atmosphere, and feature music designed specifically for these unique concert venues.
The closing concerts of the festival will kick off in Karjalohja Church, Fiskars’ iconic space Puimala, and for the first time, the extraordinary former ironworks in Billnäs, Iso-Paja. We're thrilled to announce our eminent guest conductors this year: in addition to Jukka-Pekka Saraste, we will be joined by Esa-Pekka Salonen and James Gaffigan, who will lead our very own Fiskars Festival Orchestra in the final big events of the festival. Acclaimed soprano Camilla Nylund will be performing Gustav Mahler’s Rückert Lieder as well as in the composer’s Symphony no. 4, and we will also be joined by young singers Sonja Herranen and Johan Krogius.
This year, we are proud to announce a special collaboration with the Lviv Symphony Orchestra, Ukraine, from which talented young musicians will join us especially for the summer festival.
