Flow Festival’s Balloon 360° presents music legends and irresistible rhythms

Flow Festival’s iconic Balloon 360° venue will once again present a lineup of top-tier music across genres. This year’s program features the legendary roots reggae group The Congos, the enchanting Swedish retro‑soul band Dina Ögon, one of contemporary Brazil’s most compelling artists and producers, Ana Frango Elétrico, as well as the long‑standing Icelandic ensemble múm. Flow Festival takes place in Helsinki, Finland, on 14–16 August 2026.

The magical Balloon 360° stage was created in 2012 as the result of a competition organised by the international architecture student network EASA. Originally known as Wastelands, it has since evolved into one of Flow’s most beloved landmarks, hosting a distinguished selection of global rhythm music and niche genres.

On Friday, 14 August, the circular Balloon stage will welcome Ana Frango Elétrico, one of the most fascinating Brazilian artists of the moment. Her warm, melancholic sound weaves together Brazilian singer‑songwriter traditions with tropicália, bossa nova, funk, soul, jazz, indie and art rock. Friday’s program also includes rising Americana star Tyler Ballgame, known for his powerful voice and expressive presence, as well as a major name in Finnish jazz, the Eero Koivistoinen Quartet. DJ Kridlokk brings his special Hai performance to the stage, while Rosettes offer their psych‑tinged retro‑soul.

Saturday, August 14, performers include Sweden’s Dina Ögon, who released their fourth album, Människobarn, in February. Their charming blend of retro‑soul‑leaning pop and subtle indie tones has quickly made the group a beloved favourite both in Sweden and Finland. Also taking the stage on Saturday is Iceland’s trailblazing experimental pop group múm, who returned last year with their new album History of Silence after a long hiatus, as well as The Zawose Queens, who bring Tanzanian Gogo musical traditions to the festival. Multi‑instrumentalist Jimi Tenor, who has carved out a distinctive artistic path over several decades, performs with his band, while the jazz great Juhani Aaltonen Quartet and the fresh Finnish indie act Finding Jens Hortling also take the stage.

On Sunday, true legends will take the stage as The Congos, royalty of roots reggae, perform at Balloon. Their legacy is epitomised by the 1977 album Heart of the Congos, widely regarded as one of the greatest reggae records of all time. The day’s program also features singer‑songwriter Hannah Cohen, who released her critically acclaimed fourth album Earthstar Mountain last year, and South Korea’s Sailor Honeymoon, whose sound fuses punk, garage rock, riot grrrl attitude and cool art‑rock aesthetics. Jukka Eskola and Teppo Mäkynen, together with The Guards Brass Collective, formed by the players of the Finnish Guards Band, bring their Drum’n’Brass project to Balloon, while Finland’s loudest and most electrifying folk‑rock quartet Pekko Käppi & K:H:H:L round out Sunday’s lineup.
