This summer, the Fiskars Summer Festival returns for its sixth edition, set once again in the idyllic surroundings of the historic Fiskars village.
At the heart of the festival is an inspiring masterclass for young, up-and-coming conductors, led by internationally acclaimed mentors. Audiences can look forward to an exceptional musical program featuring both chamber music and symphony orchestra concerts with an outstanding selection of soloists.
The first symphony orchestra concert takes place on Friday, August 1st at the iconic Fiskars Treshing House (Puimala). The acclaimed Fiskars Festival Orchestra—a dynamic ensemble of young talent and seasoned professionals from across the globe—returns to the stage. Many of the orchestra’s senior musicians also serve as mentors during the festival. The evening’s soloist is Iris Candelaria, the Finnish-Spanish soprano who won the 2023 Lappeenranta Singing Competition. The concert will be conducted by Jukka-Pekka Saraste alongside rising stars from the conductor masterclass.
The grand Festival Finale on Saturday, August 2nd will be held once again at the Treshing House of Fiskars. This closing concert features the winner of the 2019 prestigious Carl Nielsen Competition, Swedish-Norwegian violinist Johan Dalene as the soloist. On the podium will be Jukka-Pekka Saraste and a conductor selected from the festival's masterclass, an outstanding young conductor selected from the festival’s masterclass.
