The American punk rock band Rise Against, who sold out their first Finnish concert in Kaapelitehdas in 2009, is now returning to Helsinki with 2 gigs. The concerts take place in the Circus on the 9th and 10th of March 2012. Tickets will be available starting on Friday, October 28th. Playing support on these intensive live shows will be the British hardcore band Architechts and the American post hardcore band Touche Amorê.
Rise Against was formed in 1999 in Chicago. The band is known for their strong political statements that also appear in their lyrics. Rise Against took for instance actively part in president Obama’s political campaigning. According to the lead singer Tim McIlrath, the band has been influenced by such like Dead Kennedys and Bad Religion. Rise Against has released this year their sixth album “End Game” which went straight to second in charts in USA. The album has also got a lot of attention and praise in Europe.
