|British The Sisters Of Mercy celebrate their 30th Anniversary this year. The band arrives also to Finland on their Anniversary tour and performs at Tavastia, Helsinki on Tuesday July 26. Tickets will be available on Monday February 14.
The Sisters of Mercy consist of original member and vocalist Andrew Eldritch, a drum machine called Doktor Avalanche, been part of the band from very early stage and new members, guitarists Ben Christo and Chris May. The band was last seen in Finland at sold out Nosturi in 2009.
The band's debut album ”First And Last And Always” (1985) has been considered to be their best release. The classic line-up of Andrew Eldritch, Wayne Hussey, Gary Marx and Graig Adams perform on that very album with, ofcourse, legendary Doktor Avalanche. Their sophomore album "Floodland" was released in 1987 and third album ”Vision Thing” in 1990. The Sisters Of Mercy released their latest album, a collection called ”A Slight Case Of Overbombing”, in 1993. After this the band has not released any material as a protest against record industry and labels, but performed new songs to live audience around the world.
The Sisters Of Mercy's fame has lasted throughout years and their musical influence has been remarkable. Domestic The 69 Eyes among others have named The Sisters Of Mercy as one of their biggest influences.
