The pioneer in post punk and no wave, Swans, is returning to Finland in spring. The American band, known for exceptionally loud concerts, will perform at Tavastia on Tuesday, March the 12th. The night opens with the Finnish singer-songwriters Mirel Wagner.
Swans was formed in New York in 1982. The band became known for a completely unique sound that combined loud post punk, experimental no wave and alternative metal. After a long and successful career the band retired in late 90’s but made a comeback in 2010 with a hugely successful album ”My Father Will Guide Me Up a Rope to the Sky”. In summer 2012 came out another album, almost two hours long full-length “The Seer” that has been named among the greatest releases of 2012 by many influential magazines.
