The new urban festival, Kuudes Aisti, will be held for the first time ever in Kallio district in Helsinki between the 27th and 29th of July. The festival will take over the club Kuudes Linja and its courtyard, club Siltanen, Nokia Factory, the grounds of the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts and Stidilä. The festival’s versatile set offers everything from experimental rap and punk to techno and indie rock – the idea is to bring different underground cultures together for a single ‘village fest’.
Here a couple examples: the international names include the hip hop collective Shabazz Palaces, singer-songwriters Kurt Vile & The Violators and Ty Segall, the indie starlet Veronica Falls, the psychedelic pop band Moon Duo, the punk bands Black Lips, Ice Age and the legendary The Avengers; likewise performing are techno artists Mark Ernestus, DJ Hell and DJ Pete a.k.a Substance, Morphosis and Redshape. Many, many more artists, also a big heap of Finnish ones, are included in the set list.
