The great music producer Daniel Lanois to Finland in December

The Canadian multitalent and big name in music industry, Daniel Lanois, is arriving to Helsinki as a part of his Scandinavian tour. The show takes place at Tavastia on Tuesday, December 11th. Touring with Lanois are his band Brian Blade on the drums and Jim Wilson on the bass.

Daniel Lanois is known as one of the world’s most successful music producers. His success began when he got to co-produce U2’s album “The Unforgettable Fire” in the 1980’s. Later Lanois continued with U2, producing the records ”The Joshua Tree” and ”Achtung Baby”, out of which both won Grammy awards. Through U2 Lanois got many more great names to work with like Peter Gabriel, Bob Dylan and Neil Young and he is currently working on Killers’ and Lykke Li’s albums together with the artists. Danois has also composed music for many great movies like Dune, Last of The Mohicans, Trainspotting, All The Pretty Horses and Traffic.

His solo career Lanois started in 1989 with his debut album “Acadie”. The record, just like the following ones, was both commercial and critical success. The latest record, “Belladonna” in 2005 also got two Grammy nominations. Currently Lanois is working on a new album, due to be released next spring and he promises to play a lot of new material on the upcoming tour.  His gigs with the band Lanois describes like this: “There is something magical that happens when the three of us take the stage together and achieve Lift Off”.
