| Influenced by etno and hip hop music Swedish acoustic electro group JJ perform at Club Yk in Helsinki on Thursday March 10. Dj's Harvest and Erkko will be playing records at the "YK Live" club.
Recording for the valued Sincerely Yours record label, JJ released their first single "jj n°1" in early 2009. Few months later JJ released their debut album ”jj n°2”. Both releases gained great reviews in Pitchfork magazine and later American record label Secretly Canadian signed the band. The band's sophmore album ”jj n°3” was released in The United States and Sweden in March 2010. After their second album JJ head to tour USA and UK with electro group XX, heading to their own tour after that in Italy, France and Belgium.
JJ consists of Joakim Benon and Elin Kastlander. The duo has been avoiding publicity since the beginning of their career and the public has gotten only few photos and interviews from the duo. JJ's music has been combared to such groups as The Knife, The Avalanches and Saint Etienne.
