Ruisrock Festival announces new acts: Refused, Jimmy Cliff, Two Door Cinema Club, Explosions In The Sky, Metronomy, Michael Monroe's 50 years anniversary and many more

The 43rd Ruisrock Festival, organized between the 6th and 8th of July at Ruissalo in Turku, is announcing more artists. There will be a jubilee of comebacks from Swedish bands and long awaited first performances in Finland in sight. The hard core punk band Refused, broken up on the brink of their biggest success, is rising on the stage after 14 silent years and the pop greatness The Cardigans, last seen on stages in 2006, is playing their success album “Gran Turismo” in full. The reggae veteran Jimmy Cliff, who has been putting Jamaican music on the map of the world for 40 years, has released a new album after seven year break and just recently created an album together with Tim Armstrong from the punk band Rancid.

Ruissalo works also as an estrade for several first performances on Finnish land, as the stage will be taken over in July by the Northern Irish Two Door Cinema Club, the hottest name in American post rock, Explosions In The Sky, the rising star in British electro pop, Metronomy and the 20-years-old praised Harlem rapper Azealia Banks. From neighbouring countries Ewert And The Two Dragons that cleaned the table at The Estonian Music Awards and the Swedish hard rock band Mustasch which just recently released  their sixth album.

Michael Monroe, the regular entertainer at Ruisrock, is celebrating his 50-year-anniversary this year and the fest concert with its surprizes will naturally be experienced at Ruissalo. Nightwish, announced already last year, will be accompanied by another Finnish great name in metal music, Children of Bodom. The long-standing professionalism will be represented by Eppu Normaali and Kauko Röyhkä who is making an awaited comeback on stages with his band Narttu. The festival will also be starred by new or with their freshly released albums current names Chisu, Jukka Poika & Sound Explosion Band, Scandinavian Music Group, Regina, Fintelligens, Notkea Rotta, French Films and the hip hop line-up GG Caravan.

The program promises plenty of both foreign and local additions. The daily program will be announced later and at the same time the one and two day ticket sale will begin.
