Canadian punk-rock band NoMeansNo head for a tour in Finland in June. The band will perform at
Klubi Turku on Tuesday June 6, Klubi Tampere the following night,
Henry's Pub Kuopio on Thursday June 16 and Nosturi, Helsinki on Friday
June 17.
Talented brothers Rob and John Wright founded
NoMeansNo at Victoria, Canada in 1979. In beginning their career music
magazines described the band as "Motörhead that graduated from art
school". Considered to be the creators if "mathrock" the band combines
punk-rock with jazzcore and punkjazz. The band has created their own
original style that most of today's musician have been inspired of. In
their lyrics NoMeansNo use loads of wordplay and black humour. NoMeansNo
have never wanted to be a mainstream band but have gained fame as a
cult band and will most propably sell out venues on their tour.
NoMeansNo have visited Finland before in 2007.
