The eight edition of Flow Festival will take place in Helsinki’s Suvilahti on August 12–14. The atmospheric Flow Festival site will expand with the addition of the new Kayam tent stage, and this will mean an even more visitor-friendly event. The three-day Flow tickets will be available on April 11.
The diverse cast of Flow artists thus far includes Kanye West, the king of new pop music, whose recent album “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” ranks among the most celebrated of the past couple of years. Q-Tip, the legendary MC from the pioneering hiphop group A Tribe Called Quest, makes his first appearance in Finland, the Swedish songstress Lykke Li showcases material from her career-boosting new album “Wounded Rhymes”, and the “Nordic Daft Punk”, Röyksopp, display their party-starting electro akin to last year’s successful release “Senior”.
Other Flow acts include Mogwai, Iron & Wine, James Blake, Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti, Midlake, Sly & Robbie feat. Junior Reid, Janelle Monáe, Warpaint, Twin Shadow, Destroyer, Matthew Dear, Hercules & Love Affair, Tensnake and many more.
Flow Festival offers such domestic acts as soul sensation Jo Stance, indie group French Films, electro-pop band Shine 2009, Finnish rap genious Asa Masa, indie-pop group Rubik and Jukka Eskola Quintet, performing with a string section for the first time. Gaining fame at the club scene in UK, domestic Teeth aka Matti Pentiköinen, arrives at Flow and also produces Flow's theme song.
The festival's atmospheric site will expand with the new Nokia Blue Tent, with the capasity of 5000 festival-goers. With more space, the audience have the chance to have even more enjoyable festival experiance. New venue will be build at the premises of New Circus centre Circo for more experimental music and visual arts.
More acts will be released in May, as will the tickets for individual days and two-day combinations.
