The post metal band Cult of Luna returns to Nosturi on Saturday, March the 2nd. The ticket sale for the concert begins this week’s Friday, on November the 9th.
Cult of Luna, formed in 1988, belongs in the central names of their hometown’s Umeå hardcore / metal scene alongside Refused and Meshuggah. The band’s challenging music has kept it out of mainstream but, at the same time, made it a real cult favorite. Cult of Luna creates rumbling post metal music with influences from doom, hardcore and sludge. The band’s third album “Salvation”, released in 2004, is regarded a masterpiece.
The band decided to take a concert break in 2010 to write songs for their new album. The silent period came to an end this summer when the band returned to stage and announced that its next album “Vertikal” is coming out early 2013. With the album, the band takes on a huge comeback tour which will also travel through Helsinki.
