Complete Ruisrock Festival lineup and schedule announced!

Organised at Ruissalo, Turku on July 8-10, Ruisrock festival's program is now complete and the schedules have been published.

On the opening day, two classic Finnish rock and punk bands Pelle Miljoona Oy and Lama rise on stage, having performed at sold out venues on this Spring's Album classic series. Pelle Miljoona Oy will perform their punk and Finn rock classic album "Moottoritie on Kuuma"(1980) and original members Pelle Miljoona, Sami Yaffa, Andy McCoy, Tumppi Varonen and Ari Taskinen will shake the festival grounds. Punk fans will have also their share, as Finnish hardcore-punk pioneer Lama will perform their one and only album "Lama". Both of the bands have gained great reviews from their sold out live shows last Spring.

Ruisrock also presents the new stage Pikkulava, a small venue with big a feeling. Located at the Viinimaa Wine area, the stage offers one of the most interesting newcomers and pioneers. Singer-songwriter Tuomari Nurmio and Jarkko Martikainen, having just finished his album trilogy, will perform solo. Also the new Finnish generation of musicians such as Olavi Uusivirta, Anssi 8000 & Maria Stereo, Paradise Oskar, Mirel Wagner and Felix Zenger will perform at Pikkulava.

Turku is one of the cities of European Capital of Culture 2011 and this will be shown also at Ruisrock. Pikkulava will be taken over by an American fakir, sword-swallower and belly dancer Betty Bloomerz and a professional juggling group from Turku Circus Duo Nerg & Nivala. The awarded puppet show group from Turku, Kuuma Ankanpoikanen, bring their own surprising show, that you can experience around the festival area.
