First Artists for Ilosaarirock released

Ilosaarirock released the first taste of next summer’s program. Laulurinne will see Finland’s biggest metal band Nightwish along with Gypsypunk –band Gogol Bordello and hip hop –artist Action Bronson, both originating from New York.

Nightwish from Kitee have become an international metal phenomenon that has sold over 8 million albums worldwide. The band is releasing its double collection ‘’Decades’’ in March and will begin an extensive world tour, which will arrive to Ilosaarirock in July. At the Decades –tour Nightwish has promised to play older and rarer material newly arranged. The gig at Ilosaarirock will be the only festival performance in Finland next summer.

Gogol Bordello led by the Ukranian-born Eugene Hütz has been described as one of the world’s best live performers. The charismatic and energetic band combines folk, punk and gypsy style in its music and expands the traditional band-sound with accordion and violin. Gogol Bordello released a new album ‘’Seekers and Finders’’ in August after a four-year hiatus and headed for an extensive world tour, which will arrive to Ilosaarirock in July.

American Hip Hop -artist Action Bronson rose to fame with his second album Mr. Wonderful released in 2015. Before this the sympathetic, teddybearlike soloartist had impressed his audiences with his smooth flowing and intense gigs. Action Bronson’s production join together soul and funk influences with traditional hip hop beats and catchy rhymes. He published Blue Chips 7000 mixtape in August and is also known for his cooking program Fuck, That’s Delicious.
