Megastar Rihanna arrives for a concert at Helsinki in August. Rihanna will perform at On The Beach event, held at Hietaniemi beach from August 15. Other confirmed acts are Tinie Tempah and Santigold. More announcements will be made later. Dj's will play in between performances. Tickets will be available on Thursday April 14.
Rihanna's "The Loud Tour 2011" has been a huge success around the world. Rihanna will perform at 02 Arena at London for nine nights in a row, making a new record for female artists as Lady Gaga and Beyonce have performed at the arena for 6 nights in a row. Rihanna is one of the biggest stars of our time. Coming from Barbados Rihanna rose to fame with her hits ”Pon De Replay”, ”S.O.S.” and ”Unfaithful" and broke through to the bigger audience with his massively popular hit "Umberella" in 2007. Since then she has gained fame with hits ”Don’t Stop The Music”, ”Rehab” made together with Justin Timberlake, ”Russian Roulette”, ”Rude Boy” and ”Hard”. Her newest album "Load" was released last Autumn and the album included hits such as ”Only Girl (In The World)”, ”Love The Way You Lie” and ”S&M”.
One of the hottest pop artists today, Tinie Tempah, will make people dance with his megahits ”Pass Out”, ”Written In The Stars”, ”Frisky” and ”Miami 2 Ibiza”. The songs are from the awarded london artist's debut album "Disc-Overy" that has become a huge success in Europe. Santigold (previously Santogold) rose to fame with her debut album in 2008. The hit ”L.E.S. Artistes” is a definite club hit and the artist has toured with the likes of Björk, Coldplay and Kanye West.
On The Beach is a huge beach party, that offers the audience the chance to enjoy of the beach and favourite artists. The event is all ages, but there are bar areas for those over 18 years old. The Hietaniemi beach has served for over 80 years as a popular beach and is almost like made to be a venue.
