Ruisrock Announces Numerous New Names – Including Dua Lipa, First Aid Kit, and Years & Years

The lineup of Ruisrock held in Ruissalo, Turku, from 6–8 July, 2018, has been added to with much-anticipated artists. The festival simultaneously announced its daily program and placed all ticket types on sale!

One of the main performers of the festival is Dua Lipa (UK) who has become an international star in just a few years and is known for her unique voice and her hits that combine R&B with hip hop and pop hooks. Other secured international frontline artists include the hugely popular DJ Alan Walker (NO), one of the most followed grime artists of the day Skepta (UK), the megahit-churning Clean Bandit (UK), the versatile R&B and hip hop artist blackbear (US), and the widely praised electro-pop band Years & Years (UK), which also advocates LGBT rights. Nordic reinforcements at the festival include the Swedish First Aid Kit, which is returning to Ruissalo in the wake of its successful new album Ruins. Major up-and-coming stars include pop artist Anne-Marie (UK) and Rag’n’Bone Man who has been touted as the next British superstar.

In addition to international names, Ruisrock will feature some of the top Finnish artists and bands. The festival will showcase Emma Award-winning Haloo Helsinki!, Reino Nordin, and Litku Klemetti, not to mention Ismo Alanko, Kaija Koo, Olavi Uusivirta, ABREU, Ellinoora, Evelina, Gasellit, Scandinavian Music Group, and Vesta. After recently announcing that it will call it quits, Disco Ensemble will be seen at Ruisrock as part of its farewell tour. The festival will also include shows by some of the hottest names in Finnish rap, such as JVG, Kube and Eevil Stöö, IBE, Pikku G, Pyhimys, and Ruudolf. The legendary punk bank Kakka-Hätä 77 will play one of only a handful of festival gigs in the summer at Ruisrock.
