| British rock band White Lies arrive to Finland in April. Releasing their awaited second album in January the band will perform at Tampere Pakkahuone on Friday April 15th and The Circus -club in Helsinki on Saturday April 16th. The show in Helsinki is part of Nyt -liite and Radio Helsinki's "Evening With Friends" -club series. Tickets will be available on Wednesday November 24th.
Formed by Harry McVeigh (vocals, guitar), Charls Cave (bass, backing vocals) and Jack Lawrence-Brown (drums) the trio rose to fame with their debut album "To Lose My Life" in early 2009. The debut went straight to first place in album charts in Britain and gained good rankings in over 10 countries, including The United States where they landet on fourth place on Billboard's Heatseekers list. The band was nominated in music industry galas and was awarded with Best Newcomer prize at Q- and Mojo awards. By now "To Lose My Life" has sold over million copies worldwide.
This year the band has spend intensively touring and warming up such big pop and rock names as Muse, Kings Of Leon and Coldplay. Last time the band was seen in Finland when they warmed up Muse at Kaisaniemi in July 2010.
Although busy touring the band has managed to record their new album ”Ritual" to be released in January 19th. The new album has been produced by Alan Moulder, who has worked before with such big names as Smashing Pumpkins, My Bloody Valentine and Nine Inch Nails. The album's first single "Bigger Than Us" has just been heard also in finnish radio channels for the first time.
