Rap artist Coolio stars the opening party of a new club at The Circus in May
Renegade, Spin FM, Ballroom Ent. and The Circus are organising a new super club, The Circus Ballroom, at The Circus, Helsinki. The opening party is held on Saturday May 28 and features American rap artisti Coolio. Altogether the event hosts 25 live and dj artists.
Originally known from the group WC and Maad Circle, Coolio broke through as a solo artist in 2004 with his single "Fantastic Voyage". The following year he took the project of making a song to the movie "Dangerous Minds", starred by Michelle Pfeiffer. Gansta's Paradise is one of the most famous rap songs and an anthem for a whole generation, and it made Coolio a super star. The songs was the most sold single in 1995. After that Coolio released hits such as I'll C U When U Get There", "Too Hot", "1,23,4 Sumpin New", "I like girls" and "Gangsta Walk", recorded in cooperation with Snoop Dog.
Coolio has released nine studio albums. His newest album "From The Bottom 2 The Top" was released in 2009 and had stars such as the legendary oscar-winning composer Ennio Morricone and producer Paul Oakenfold working on the new album. The Grammy-awarded artist is known also as an actor from tens of films and several tv-series.
The evening will feature also 25 other artists, including Juno, DJ Taste, DJ Rahim, Slim Kim, Selekta Andor, Svengali, Norlan, Forward Squad, Eliot Ness, Muffler, Inketo and Soppamies.
