LCD Soundsystem and The Chemical Brothers to Flow Festival Opening concert!

| The Flow Festival Opening Concert acts have now been confirmed. The Chemical Brothers and LCD Soundsystem will be performing at Suvilahti Helsinki on Thursday August 11th 2010. The stage will be warmed up by finnish Kap Kap. The Flow Festival Opening Concert tickets will go on sale on Monday June 7th at 9 am.

The British electronic music heavyweights The Chemical Brothers, duo Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons, are pioneers of the big beat electronic dance genre which achieved mainstream popularity in the 1990s. The duo is known for their live sets which have increased their fanbase also outside of traditional electronic music genres and for an electro duo the group has been unusually popular performer aswell at rock festivals.

The band's debut album "Exit Planet Dust" (1995) and also the following two albums "Dig Your Own Hole" (1997) and "Surrender" (1999) are considered to be one of the most important electronic music releases in the 1990s. Throughout the beginning of 21st century the band has been building up their clear vision and it is claimed to grow to new proportions with their latest album "Further", to be released in June 2010.

Announced already earlier and opening Flow festival with The Chemical Brothers are The LCD Soundsystem (US), who will also appear in Finland for the first time hot on the heels of their eagerly-awaited new album released in May 2010. LCD Soundsystem is the musical project of American producer James Murphy, co-founder of dance-punk label DFA Records. The group's style is a mix of dance music and punk, along with elements of disco, experimental rock, and other styles. They have released three critically acclaimed albums, with 2010's This Is Happening also charting in the Billboard Top 10.

The group has announced to retire after "This Is Happening" -album tour, so The Opening concert will present two long time awaited and topical groups arriving to Finland for the first time. Warming things up for the two will be Kap Kap, one of the hottest new acts in the Finnish scene.
