K-X-P will throw their first gig in Helsinki at Tavastia in February
| Led by Timo Kaukolampi and Tuomo Puranen, K-X-P will throw their first own gig at Tavastia Club in Helsinki on Friday February 11. Usually alternating drummers Anssi Nykänen and Tomi Leppänen will this time perform together for the first time, which makes the evening special.
Having published their debut album last summer, K-X-P arrive to Tavastia straight from their European tour starting in January. Although K-X-P’s music is something brand new, the members of the band have long musical history in combos such as Op:l Bastards, Larry and The Lefthanded, Aavikko, and Circle.
K-X-P is hard to be categorized into a particular genre. The band’s hypnotic danceable sound is a mixture of electro, krautrock, noise and even rockabilly inspired by Raymond Scott, Moondog, Martin Rev, Spacemen 3, This Heat, 23 Skidoo, NEU!, and Suicide. The unique sound of the band has been noticed widely by music media as well in Finland as abroad.
