| Ilosaarirock celebrate their 40th Anniversary next Summer at Laulurinne in Joensuu on July 15.-17. The festival has now announced their first attachments and the biggest surprises may this year be domestic. Last seen on stage in 1991, one of the most awaited comebacks, alternative rock band Sielun Veljet perform at Ilosaarirock on July. Also another group from Joensuu pop band Neljä Ruusua will return to stage. Tickets will be available on Monday April 4.
The festival offers a versitale line-up of artists from reggae to metal and alternative music. The festival's first releases contain nine foreign and most of the domestic bands. Electronic music fans will be given a treat as British Aphex Twin arrive to Laulurinne. Hard rock, metal and punk will be offered by British punk legend Buzzcocks, American heavy metal group Iced Earth and Norwegian action rock and metal band Kvelertak. Alternative rock will be presented by Porcupine Tree vocalist Steven Wilson with his other group Blackfield, Japanise futurist hard rock band Melt-Banana and American post rock and ambient band Red Sparowes. Reggae and world music will be offered by German Gentleman and Spanish Ojos De Brujo.
The city of Joensuu will be strongly represented as in addition to Sielun Veljet and Neljäs Ruusu, pop bands Happoradio and Stella will also been seen on stage at Ilosaarirock. Other domestic groups confirmed are among others Apulanta, Stam1na, CMX and Paleface.
