Ruisrock announces almost 30 artists for the upcoming summer

Ruisrock festival, held in Turku at Ruissalo between the 5th and the 7th of July, has announced 29 artists for the next summer’s program. With the announcement opens also the new Ruisrock web site and the sales of all ticket types begins.

The international artists starring at the festival on Friday are the British synth pop duo Hurts and the Australian electro duo Knife Party. Also from Britain come the leading name in alternative rock, Editors, and the singer-songwriter Jessie Ware.  From the US arrives the Grammy nominated indie group Band of Horses. The Swedish bands At the Gates and Graveyard are responsible for the heavier sounds on Friday and The Sounds, also from Sweden, is a surefire party maker.

Out of Finnish artists, J.Karjalainen, Ismo Alanko, CMX and Von Hertzen Brothers represent the long-time favorites who are just on the verge of releasing their new awaited albums. Stam1na’s and Samuli Putro’s albums both came out last year and both have been already awarded gold records. Also included are the Ruisrock’s trusted visitor Michael Monroe, the Finnish top-selling female singer Kaija Koo and Xysma, a band that is a rare sight at festivals.

The festival’s punk crew includes Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät, Pää Kii and Kivesveto GoGo, hip hop fans will be buttered up with Karri Koira, Ruger Hauer, Jätkäjätkät, Teflon Brothers and Notkea Rotta who is sharing the stage together with SMC Lähiörotat. Haloo Helsinki! and Satellite Stories will bring fresh pop rock to the festival and Sin Cos Tan and DJ Rico Tubbs shall entertain with sweet electro music.
