Organised on 8-10 July Ruisrock Festival has announced two new world class names to the festival's line-up. On Friday Ruissalo will shake from American youth power as pop-punk phenomenon Paramore rise on stage. On Sunday the festival grounds are tested again as rock'n'roll living legend Michael Monroe and his band make Ruissalo dance.
Pop-punk group Paramore return to Finland to the delight of their ever-growing fanbase. Paramore released their debut album "All We Know Is Falling" in 2005 and are one of the most popular American groups today. Their newest album ”Brand New Eyes” was released in 2009 and has sold platinum and gold worldwide. Vocalist, the redheaded Hayley Williams and her group have gained great reviews from their live shows. The band are especially known for their catchy hits "The Only Exception", "Ignorance", ”That’s What You Get”, ”Crushcrushcrush”, “Hallelujah”, ”Misery Business” and ”Decode”, known from the hit movie "Twilight". The band have started to work on their new album so next summer we might hear also new material. Since their last visit Paramore's line-up has changed and the new songs are the first recorded without original members Josh and Zac Farro.
The energetic rock star Michael Monroe has been seen at Ruisrock for many times now and he will surely offer a show to remember. The band's newest album, praised "Sensory Overdrive", was released in March and rose to first places in Finnish album chart and Rumba magazine's album chart. In UK the album reached 13th place at rock album chart. The charismatic Michael Monroe started his career as the leader figure in Hanoi Rocks and has spread the gospel of rock'n'roll for over 30 years now. Monroe's energetic show will be guaranteed as he will be accompanied on stage by Hanoi Rocks member Sami Yaffa, The Wildhearts singer-guitarist Ginger, New York Dolls and Willy Devil guitarist Steve Conte and drummer Karl Rockfist, known from Danzig among other groups.
