Omar Rodríguez-López, known among other things as the hyper active guitarist of At the Drive-In and The Mars Volta, is bringing his solo project Omar Rodriguez Lopez Group to Tavastia on Wednesday, September the 12th. The ticket sale begins on Monday, August the 6th at 9 am.
As one of most influential current American alternative musicians, Omar Rodríguez-López, is especially remembered from the ground-breaking post hard core band At the Drive-In and the progressive music band The Mars Volta. In addition to his band work the artist has also released a huge amount of solo material and co-recorder with other many big names.
Omar Rodriguez Lopez Group gives the artist a chance to actualize his visions that are not compatible with the music styles of his bands. The group tours and records with varying activity and its line-up has changes during the years. Current band includes, in addition to Rodríguez-López himself, also the drummer Deantoni Parks – also known from The Mars Votla - and Teri Gender Bender brom the garage punk band Le Butcherettes.
