Flow Festival brings top names in club music to Heineken Backyard

Flow Festival’s eclectic program of DJ and club music grows stronger as the festival announces the program of Heineken Backyard, known for its irresistible atmosphere. This year, the venue is brought to life with the festival’s main partner, Heineken. Flow’s lush Backyard offers its finest for friends of house and disco music, as DJ Koze, Ash Lauryn, Jennifer Loveless, Ben UFO, Dj Babatr, DJ Subaru, and many more take the stage.

Heineken Backyard is a haven for all lovers of feel-good club music. This year, the venue hosts one of Europe’s most original and prestigious electronic music artists, DJ Koze. Beginning his career in the early 1990s, Koze avoids trends, instead creating multidimensional musical worlds influenced by psychedelic elements and surprises. Moreover, Backyard presents Detroit-born artist Ash Lauryn, who plays deep, soulful house, and DJ, producer, and multifaceted artist Jennifer Loveless, stemming from queer club culture.

Heineken Backyard also presents one of the most important DJs of this century in Britain, the UK bass specialist Ben UFO. Further, stepping to the booth is DJ Batbar, the founder of the Venezuelan raptor house genre, as well as one of the leading forces in the Leeds queer nightlife, DJ Subaru. The Milanese producer and DJ duo, Eternal Love, will electrify the Backyard with their diverse musical range. Their style includes mellow tempos of street soul and vintage rap, as well as disco, Italo disco, and ’90s-inspired Balearic and cosmic house.

Joining the bill will be Habibi Funk, renowned for spinning vinyl gems from the Middle East and North Africa, featuring tracks recorded between the 1960s and 1980s, encompassing genres like funk, soul, jazz, and hip-hop. Additionally, Awesome Tapes from Africa, celebrated for releasing and playing African music across various eras, will showcase sounds from disco, highlife, soul, jazz, and pop at Heineken Backyard.

Finland’s top DJs will keep Backyard dancing all night long. Among them are Helsinki club mainstay Maria Wesander, tropical rhythms and classic disco specialist Galactic Mace, and Hitoshi, who draws from an eclectic vinyl collection rooted in electronic music and disco. Also performing are disco crowd favourite Hanna Ojanen, along with Italo disco enthusiasts Tero Männikkö and Ben Bostik, who will be delivering a back-to-back set.
