Flow Festival, organized for the 9th time, has announced its first artists for the next summer. The festival will be held between the 8th and 12th of August 2012 in Helsinki, Suvilahti. The Icelandic super star Björk will perform in Flow on Sunday, the 12th of August as a part of her Biophilia tour. On the opening night of the festival, on Wednesday, the 8th, the American Bon Iver will take over the Blue Tent stage. The ticket sale will begin on Wednesday, the 7th of December.
The available tickets will be one day tickets for Wednesday and for Sunday as well as the three day ticket and as a new kind of ticket type, a four day festival ticket that includes the whole festival and the opening night concert.
Björk Guðmundsdóttir is one of the biggest pop icons of our time. The strong visionary started her solo career in 1993 with her debut album named Debut that has become known as a unique classic and a masterpiece. The singer’s newest album Biophilia deals with thematic of nature and science and is a part of a bigger project that includes among other things new instruments created for the record and an epic live performance show. Bon Iver is an American band formed in 2007 that has already published two full albums. From the first record For Emma, Forever Ago it was obvious that this is a special and talented group with deep, varying and sensitive music.
Flow Festival 2012 will be the first Flow to be experienced for five days: Thursday offers experimental music in Other Sound concept and talk programs. To limit the black market sales and to ensure that tickets will be available for their real price at Tiketti, this year the Flow tickets will be personalized in a new way.
