Swedish trumpeter/composer Goran Kajfeš and his Subtropic Arkestra recently stunned music fans with a Bandcamp only EP featuring Kurdish-Swedish vocalist Avin Omar (We Jazz Records, 2026). Now, they’re ready to bring the music to Helsinki and to Väreet. The Subtropic Arkestra, already a live favourite bringing together various Swedish jazz and psychedelic music scene heavy hitters, fires on all cylinders with Omar, and it’s rare to hear the band in an intimate listening room such as G Livelab Helsinki.

The Swiss trio divr debuted with Is This Water in 2024. The band blew listeners (and critics) out of the water with their improvised music, echoing deep friendship, togetherness and a remarkable knack at making memorable and emotional music without previously set limits. At Väreet, divr celebrate their new live album Lévan, which continues their association with the Helsinki-based We Jazz Records.
