touko returns to live venues with the “No Swing Tour,” celebrating the band’s new EP release. The upcoming EP, “No Swing Zone,” to be released in August, brings audiences into a new kind of energy that blends the raw, dark tone familiar from the Tiistai EP with fresh rhythms that playfully explore the absence of swing.
touko is a five-piece pop/jazz band whose self-written and self-produced songs are known for their poetic, beautiful lyrics and a sensitive yet playful atmosphere. The band is recognized for its strong expression and genre-blending style. touko’s live performances combine theatrical elements with characteristics typical of the jazz tradition, such as improvisation.

The evening is opened by Viive! Viive is a collaborative project between vocalist/keyboardist Riikka Suutari and multi-instrumentalist Antti Niiranen, which has since evolved into a quartet. Duo’s debut album “Sen Jälkeen Kun” is influenced by various genres such as jazz, progressive jazz/rock and downtempo. From a tranquil summer night to the sting of a nettle, the story unfolds into one where everything is alright in the end. The band is currently working on their second album, which continues to explore the narrative-driven sound that blends multiple genres.
