Indie folk singer-songwriter Noah Gundersen and americana artist David Ramirez will play their own full-length solo shows and give a live interview together.
Growing up in a religious and musical family in Washington State, Noah Gundersen formed The Courage with his sister Abby in 2008 at the age of 19. After a few years in the band, Gundersen embarked on a successful solo career that has now grown to six albums. Songs on Sons of Anarchy and other hit shows quickly propelled the artist's popularity to new heights and also brought along an Emmy nomination. The singer-songwriter cites Neil Young and Ryan Adams as his influences, and you can clearly hear both indie and americana in Gundersen's music. This will be his first visit to Finland.
After impressing in Finland in 2023, David Ramirez is coming back with a new album. Ramirez's back catalogue ranges from americana songwriting to more modern sounds. The Texan with a unique baritone has received praise from the New York Times, Q Magazine, Uncut and Classic Rock Magazine. In 2020, the Austin Chronicle named Ramirez Songwriter of the Year, saying: “The Houston native writes with unrivaled emotional grit, fearless in confronting his own doubts and struggles with a powerfully poetic lens.” The artist describes his forthcoming sixth album, All the Not So Gentle Reminders, as a creative liberation: “I love all the records I’ve made in the past. But in making them there was always the thought in the back of my mind of where and what it could get me. This time it was all about just the joy of making it, about having fun with it.”
Before the show there will also be a joint interview about the artists’ careers and songwriting.
