Welcome to the Rootsinpyhtää Bluegrass 2026 Festival

Rootsinpyhtää is the longest-running festival in Finland of American bluegrass music, originally from the Appalachian Mountains. It has been held every summer since 1988, except for the two COVID years. Over the years, the festival has featured top Finnish bands, as well as numerous top American and European artists such as Hot Rize, Rhonda Vincent, James King, Don Rigsby, Dudley Connell, and many others.

The Rootsinpyhtää Bluegrass festival will once again this summer feature a great selection of the most sincere acoustic music from this side of the Appalachian Mountains: great guests this time from the USA - brilliant fiddler Sami Braman and multi-instrumentalist Reed Stutz - and from Sweden - The Hillfillies - alongside the very best Finnish bluegrass and old time bands such as Jussi Syren And The Groundbreakers, Self Rising Flour, Wasel & The Weasels, Nervous Buffalo String Band and many other already popular bands as well as some newer ones performing at the festival for the first time.

The festival begins with a concert on Friday evening on June 5th from 7 pm to midnight and continues on Saturday with the main concert that lasts the entire afternoon on the Tallinmäki festival stage. There will also be an all-night concert on Saturday evening, and the festival will end with a Sunday afternoon concert in the beautiful old white church on the hill, in the Strömfors ironworks area. 

On Saturday afternoon, new bands and bands that break genre boundaries will be heard on the Crossover stage, and during the weekend there will also be an opportunity to participate in open bluegrass jams with your own acoustic instrument without worrying about your level of expertise, as everyone is welcome to join in - bring your own acoustic instrument! Admission to the Crossover stage concert and jams is free.

The age limit for evening concerts is 18 after 10:00 PM. Children under 12 years of age can attend the main concert on Saturday for free when accompanied by a paying adult.

Get your tickets ready for the best price no later than 31.3.

Admission to the Saturday afternoon main concert and both evening concerts is with a ticket, and there are now discounted "Early Bird" tickets on sale until the end of March. All tickets are available in the Tiketti online store and other Tiketti sales outlets all spring until the festival starts.
