Pioneer of Finnish rap and founding member of the acclaimed KPC collective, Rekami will release his new album PIVOT in spring 2026, a title that fittingly marks a major turning point in his career. Until now, Rekami has produced his albums himself, but this time the executive producer’s role is taken on by Henri Lanz aka MGI. The album has already been previewed with the singles “Ringside” and “Mun mestoi” (ft. Käärijä).
Widely respected within Finland’s rap scene, Rekami is also making a live‑side pivot with the new album, embarking on his first-ever solo tour.
Rekami’s album release tour arrives at G Livelab Tampere on Saturday, October 3rd.
Having released his first projects already in the early 2000s, Rekami is known as a distinctive and highly prolific artist with numerous solo and collaborative albums behind him. In addition to his own material, he has gained recognition for his production work for other artists, including Gettomasa, Artifacts, Asa, Are, Stepa, Julma H, Pyrythekid, and Redrama.
The evening opens with Kosmiset Liskot! Kosmiset Liskot is the crown jewel of Tampere’s rap scene. The group forms the rapping division of the Cosmic Lizard Squad breaking crew. The Cosmic Lizards consist of MCs CaliLeo, Kaartis and Lil’E.
Cosmic Lizard Squad was founded in 2009, when b-boy Jimi (Sticky Ruckus Crew) brought his students together to train as a crew. What followed was relentless grinding in the depths of Nääshalli and on the stairs of Pispala, eventually leading several members to win multiple Finnish youth championships. The crew kept dancing at events across Finland and performing shows. During this time, Kaartis became active as a solo artist, and Lil’E also started rapping in the group MdB. CaliLeo was rapping and freestyling on his own. Gradually, rap began to weave itself into CLS’s dance performances, and the trio decided to join forces musically. Their Terraario EP dropped at the end of 2021 and Tampere’s rhythm music scene hasn’t been the same since.
Their debut album Ryönägeddon was released in the summer of 2024, created together with Tampere’s rap legends. The album features the iconic Petri Nygård, the ambassador of rollo-funk Hannibal, and multitalented heavy-hitters Tykopaatti and 6mäki. Production credits include Tiedemies, known from Flegmaatikot, and Finnish rap pioneer Sere.
Right now, Kosmiset Liskot are working on a new album, from which the singles Pyrstötähti and BOOM have already been released.
Cloakroom fee 3 € included in the ticket price.
