The indie band NEØV, which has been dubbed the best in its genre in Finland, will release its sixth album Goodbye Nordhamn in the fall of 2026. The band, which has mostly performed abroad in recent years, will celebrate its Finnish album debut at G Livelab on Saturday, November 28.
Formed by brothers and multi-instrumentalists Anssi and Samuli Neuvonen from Juankoski, NEØV has garnered significant radio play and media exposure in Central Europe, and the band has become one of the top names in Nordic indie pop. The band's unique music features airy compositions, rich instrumentation and introspective lyrics that create a bittersweet undertone that combines melancholy and hopefulness.
The new album Goodbye Nordhamn was recorded at the legendary Sundlaugin studio in Iceland in collaboration with Birgir Jón Birgisson (among others Sigur Rós, Björk, Jon Hopkins, Sólstafir). The album is released by Berlin-based Motor Music.
The evening will be opened by Ruissalo Amping, who will celebrate their new album "Rihmasto".
Ruissalo Amping released their fascinating and acclaimed debut album Tähtien suojattit Maan povella in late 2021. In the summer of 2023, the band returned from a release break with a Finnish cover of HIM's song When Love and Death Embrace, which was released as Rakkaus kuolemassa elää.
The lyrics and music of Ruissalo Amping's new album Rihmasto were born in a world where the spirit of the times guides the individual's connection to the world in many ways. On one hand, the prevailing mechanisms produce connections to meta-environments at an accelerating pace in the form of algorithms and addictions, on the other hand, fascist currents reduce humanity to predetermined categories and tightly regulated machines. In response to this, Ruissalo Amping approached the production of their third album primarily as a band, and proudly presents their final results at G Livelab.
