One of the leading figures of Finnish jazz, Jukka Perko—an alumnus of the Dizzy Gillespie Orchestra—returns to the atmosphere of the swing era with a program where evergreen classics are sung in Finnish and played in English! The vocal soloist is Jay Kortehisto, known from several popular Finnish bands such as Jean S., Ricky Tick Big Band, and Sunrise Avenue.
In this traditionally styled jazz ensemble, Perko and Kortehisto are driven by a tightly swinging trio of piano, bass, and drums. This is exactly the kind of much-requested, old-school jazz performed with a classic recipe—full of joy and even a hint of tongue-in-cheek spirit!
