Founded in Helsinki in 1994, Eternal Erection is a pioneer of Finnish funk, best known for its energetic live performances. The band has released six studio albums, a live album, an EP, and numerous singles and music videos. Their latest album, *It's Easy*, was released in 2014. Eternal Erection has been on an indefinite hiatus from performing since 2018 but will return to the stage in 2025, coinciding with the release of new music.
Stylistically, Eternal Erection’s music is rooted in Black rhythm music (Sly & the Family Stone, George Clinton, James Brown, Prince, etc.) but also draws elements from genres such as pop, rock, hip hop, and jazz.
The atmosphere at their shows has been described as an "interactive funk prayer session." Lead singer and frontman Sam Huber characterizes the live performances as follows: "An Eternal Erection live show is an event in itself: alter egos, an irresistible groove, and stylish attire create the atmosphere of a world-class spectacle. We are ambitious about evolving 21st-century funk and introducing new elements to the genre."
