That’s how Soundi described DJ Kridlokk’s UG Solo album, released exactly 15 years ago. The record has become a cornerstone of Finland’s smoky, ominous Memphis‑influenced sound, and to celebrate the anniversary DJ Kridlokk is heading out on an extensive UG Solo 15Y tour. The Teosto‑awarded DJ Kridlokk is a highly respected artist and producer who recently performed at the Helsinki Musiikkitalo in support of his latest album Hai. The album received a full five stars from both Helsingin Sanomat and Soundi.

On this autumn’s UG Solo 15Y tour, the artist returns to his roots as DJ Kridlokk’s solo debut is lifted from its cassette‑sarcophagus. The album features hits such as Lainaan enkä palauta, Röökii & Rötöksii and Mit Vit Yks Kaks.
Fifteen years ago, DJ Kridlokk described his approach to performing in an online forum interview like this:

DJ Kridlokk: Maybe — depends how far people are willing to go with me and listen to this shit, because it’s not going to change. I’ll do a show if someone’s willing to take the risk.
The opener JV’s musical career is long and prolific. He has collaborated with numerous artists such as Eevil Stöö, Kriso, Jodarok and Gasellit. JV has composed and produced a significant part of his own catalogue, and he has appeared regularly on other artists’ records both as a rapper and as a producer.
After a period of relative quiet, JV’s new album A.W.O.L. was released through Dödstil in February 2025. The sound and production of the new record blend wholesome gospel samples, lo‑fi drums and JV’s gritty mic presence into a minimalist masterpiece.
