Dire Straits 50th Anniversary Show by Alchemy

Dire Straits has left an indelible mark on the history of rock music. Over the years, the band’s iconic guitar riffs and timeless songs have only continued to grow in stature. Inspired by the music of one of the great names in British rock, Alchemy, a Finnish tribute band featuring a group of top-class musicians, was formed in 2023. Alchemy performs all of Dire Straits’ greatest hits with authenticity, style and outstanding musicianship.

Alchemy consists of five highly respected musicians. Emma Award nominee Tapio Ylinen (PULSE, 5th Season, Mortality), nominated in 2021, is known as a versatile guitarist, composer and producer. Bassist Jukka Haavisto released his critically acclaimed debut album in 2022, while Juhani Valkama is an accomplished singer-songwriter with two solo albums to his name. The lineup is completed by seasoned musicians Arttu Tuominen and Simo Haapala, whose playing combines the soul and warmth of rock music.

The tribute band from Tampere was founded out of a genuine love for the multifaceted music of Dire Straits. The musicians’ deep knowledge of and dedication to the band’s music can be both seen and heard in Alchemy’s sound.

The concert has an intermission.
