A mother’s perfect life. In a mother’s perfect kitchen.
Your Mother, Clytemnestra transforms Ryhmäteatteri's stage into a well-equipped kitchen brimming with maternal power, where Mother’s fateful, transgenerational bravura—her symptomatic motherly love—simmers on the stove.
The performance by Minna Lund and her team peels back the layers of a mother like an onion. It is an intense and symbolic portrayal of a family in a petty-bourgeois neighborhood, held together by the mother and her love for her own fate.
Minna Lund’s latest play plays with psychoanalysis and is loosely inspired by the ancient Greek tragedy Electra, in which Clytemnestra’s daughter decides, together with her brother, to murder her mother. The central themes of the Electra myth are revenge, an obsessive relationship with the father, the complexity of mother-daughter relationships, unreasonable demands, and aggression toward one’s own mother.
Early Bird tickets on sale until 16th of September!
