Friday’s top guest artist is one of the world’s best jazz guitarists John Scofield with his Yankee Go Home project. Their super group surfs on the waves of rock and jazz.
Pepe Willberg & Jukka Eskola Statement takes us on a nostalgia trip with their ensemble of seven top musicians and a set of Otto Donner’s music from the cult albums En soisi sen päättyvän and Niin vähän on aikaa.
On Saturday the festival audience will be mesmerized by master saxophonist Jukka Perko and PreBoppers. The gentlemen offer groovy and traditional American jazz in the 1930s style. French-born Cyrille Aimée oozes international glamour. Aimée has risen to be one of the most followed and rewarded jazz singers of her generation.
The urban and marine Turku Sea Jazz will be held on 29–30 July in front of the Forum Marinum Maritime Centre by the Aura river, where the river ends and sea begins. The audience gets to also enjoy wonderful food experiences served by Turku Food & Wine Festival.
