A very special occasion for all the fans of soothing americana & soul music. The long-awaited album "Game Changing" by Tuomo & Markus is released in January, and the "Nordic americana" band celebrates the occasion at G Livelab Tampere.
Lately Tuomo & Markus has been touring around the world, supporting Wilco and wowing audiences at NYC Winter Jazzfest and SXSW Festival in Texas, to mention but a few. Their SXSW performance was witnessed by Rolling Stone Magazine senior editor David Fricke who described the band's sound as "a marvelous debut steeped in the pioneer stories of The Band, the painted-desert psychedelia of the American Beauty-era Grateful Dead and the modernist extensions of Wilco and Tucson band Calexico."
The new album has been recorded in Los Angeles at Jonathan Wilson's studio and the record features the legendary US artist Marc Ribot as guest artist.
Tuomo Prättälä (keyboards and vocals) and Markus Nordenstreng (guitars and vocals) will be joined on stage by Jere Ijäs (bass), Miikka Paatelainen (steel guitar) and Juho Viljanen (percussions, trombone).
Ticket price includes 3 € cloackroom charge.
Under 18-year-old music lovers are welcome to G Livelab Tampere shows with an adult. Children under school age can enter gigs free of charge.
