Tapiola Chamber Choir brings musical joy, light and nostalgia in the form of new and old Christmas music. The choir will be performing pieces from well-known composers such as Joonas Kokkonen, Samuel Barber, and Eric Whitacre.
Tapiola Chamber Choir has since its inception in 1983 been in the top tier of the Finnish choral scene. Hailing from Espoo, the choir has been led by f.ex. Eric- Olof Söderström and Juha Kuivanen, with current artistic director, Doctor of Music Hannu Norjanen, having held the position since 1998. Guest conductors on various projects have included, among others, Harry Christophers, Paul Hillier and Peter Schreier. The choir’s repertoire ranges from baroque to contemporary music, with a special emphasis on romantic and newer material.
