Reality Research Center: Intensive Destruction Unit in Tiketti Galleria

Reality Research Centre opens up The Intensive Destruction Unit at Tiketti Galleria in September 2018. It is a service, an installation and an experimental performance inspired by the urge to break objects into pieces. The Intensive Destruction Unit is a place where you can bring your belonging which you want to get rid of in a special way.

A dysfunctional thingy, unwanted gift, a souvenir of a past relationship, your military passport, an ugly household item, a bra or an overrated book. Intensive Destruction Unit accepts any objects that don’t cause danger or a serious crime. Living beings are not considered as objects. As long as you can carry the thing to the unit with your own hands we will take care of the rest.

An unwanted object is both a concrete and a sentimental drag. The Intensive Destruction Unit is not aiming to bring joy out of recycling or upcycling pointless junk, but to channel the disheartened, anxious, annoyed or otherwise heavy feelings to an art experience that might turn out to be purgative or delightful. Or to let one enjoy demolition without knowing why. At the Intensive Destruction Unit you will get rid of a burden and get a unique destruction service experience in return.

The one-on-one performances are at 12 am, 3 pm and 5 pm from Mondays to Fridays. The performance is for one spectator at a time, so we kindly ask you to reserve your place after the 3rd of September by email: [email protected] or by phone: +358 400 641 989.

The performances and the exhibition are free of charge.

Reality Research Center, founded in 2001, is a collective of artists engaged in performative adventures. Their shared aspiration is to observe, question, and renew reality by creating performances.
