MimoArt Company presents
Mates Petrák: MEMENTO MORI
World-class slapstick horror and black humor for the stout of heart! Memento Mori is a deadly funny, deeply touching and breathtaking one man's physical comedy masterpiece!
"The best clowning, mime and slapstick combining piece I've ever seen!"
A lonely creature. Too strange for the living and too lively for the dead.
Waiting…until the clock strikes, for you too.
Is he alive? Or is he simply watching himself from above, eking out the last of his days?
The gravedigger’s story reveals the predestination and fickleness of man’s fate, and our inability to reverse the course of any of this. Sarcasm and hyperbole go hand in hand with lyrical pantomime. The language of the body is used to recount those critical moments in one’s life that are most cruel. The Sisyphean work of gravedigger Azrael is a sitcom in chains that puts a smile on your face while the humor cuts to the bone.
Mates Petrák is an actor, mime and clown who´s master of acrobatics, stunts and slapstick. He is undoubtedly one of the most versatile and brightest performers in the Czech Republic at the moment.
After graduating from the physical theater school HAMU he worked for years in Losers Cirque Company. Among Circus and theatre he has performed in various TV, movie and dance productions. Currently he works in the Czech National Theatre / Laterna Magika, MimoArt Company and tours actively with his solo.
