KAKSI NÄYTELMÄÄ NORASTA
Henrik Ibsen – A Doll's House & Sivan Ben Yishai – Nora: Prologue
Two plays about Nora Helmer. Two worlds. One story – and it's true.
You might think you know the story: Nora and her husband Torvald, their children, the servants, and their friends. Maybe you see A Doll's House as just a classic stuck in the past, a dusty tale from another time. But forget old notions! When two generations and plays meet, the doll's house is no longer the same.
Theatre Vertigo brings to Turku a performance where Henrik Ibsen's classic A Doll's House (1879) merges with Sivan Ben Yishai's modern work Nora: Prologue (2022). The fresh dramatization of the two plays creates a tension that weaves together the past and the present in a startling way.
Kaksi näytelmää Norasta delves deep into the structures of society and raises questions about equality, polarization, and power dynamics. Who gets to decide, whose voice is heard? Who dictates how we should live? At the same time, the performance dives into the depths of relationships – the fragility of love and the decisions that are inevitable.
