Joona Toivanen Trio will release their long-awaited new album Gravity in the spring of 2025. The trio's previous album Both Only achieved great international success: it received a Jazz-Emma nomination and was sold out in record stores. The new album takes the trio even deeper into the musical world hinted at by Both Only, where the trio unprejudicedly explores the means of expression of the traditional piano trio. Acoustic trio jazz and electronic elements organically weave together, and the music can be described as cinematic, ambient and surreal.
The night will be opened by Pauli Lyytinen.
Pauli Lyytinen ´s solo project is built on textural compositions, field recordings, extended saxophone techiques and electro-acoustic soundscapes and layers. In big part of the program Lyytinen is using live effects to broaden the soundscape and orchestrate the music. Improvisation is constantly present on this musical journey. Lyytinen has work with his solo since 2012 and the debut Machinery (CD/DVD) was released in 2016 by Eclipse Music and the second album Lehto | Korpi on We Jazz record label in August 2024.
Cloakroom fee 3 € included in the ticket price.
The event is a seated concert for the most part.
If the event is not sold out, there will be student tickets available at the door for 20 € each (student tickets not sold online) before the show starts. Please show your student card when purchasing student tickets. The concert has no age limit. Children under school age can enter gigs free of charge.
