This unique festival brings together all food lovers, wine enthusiasts and culinary professionals. The festival program offers culinary experiences from top kitchens around the world as well as food-related art exhibitions.

The festival visitors will be inspired and delighted for four days. The event may be experienced through unique dinners, demonstrations and tastings as well as an exclusive restaurant tour by the Aura River.

The stage program offers talks about food from a cultural and social aspect. The entertaining part of the program will make visitors enjoy their time until the late hour.

On the last day of the event, a grand Foodie Flea Market will be organized for all bargain hunters around. The Foodie Flea Market will offer anything and everything you need in the kitchen - from pans to table cloths and cook books.

Food & Art Festival Turku will be organized 5-8 September 2019 in Ruissalo Shipyard and by the Aura River in the center of Turku. The full festival program will be announced during spring 2019.


Introducing top chefs from around the world

The annual Food & Art Festival is a multi-sensory event that has its focus on art and food made by visiting chefs from around the world. Every year, international chefs are invited under a certain theme (e.g. Nordic Chefs or Museum restaurant chefs) from all around the world to get to know each other and to get inspired by the Finnish nature and ingredients. And, of course, to cook a unique 9-course Chef's Menu dinner for the festival guests.

The Chef's Menu is being organized for the sixth time, this year focusing on the theme Master & Commis. The evening presents its guests an intimate journey to the world's top kitchens and their chefs.

The visiting chefs in 2019 are Michelin-starred chef Mathias Dahlgren as well as finalists from the respected S. Pellegrino Young Chef Competition e.g. Leslie Hottiaux (New Zealandi) and Vusumuzi Ndlovu (South-Africa). As always, the Finnish Bocuse d'Or repserentative Ismo Sipeläinen and Finnish Chef of the Year Mikko Kaukonen will be contributing to the dinner.

Each chef prepared one unique dish for the menu. The dinner will be enjoyed accompanied by conceptual art designed by Belgian artist Koen Vanmechelen.
