Fiskars Summer Festival 29.7.-3.8.2024
Welcome to the 5th edition of the Fiskars Summer Festival! We are proud to present our special anniversary programme, which includes our summer chamber music series, and concerts with the Fiskars Festival Orchestra in Puimala, Karjalohja Church and Billnäs, Iso paja.
Our popular chamber music concerts take place in a variety of locations around Fiskars such as Lukaali and Karin Widnäs' Gallery (KWUM), and we'll be opening our doors to an open house and free concert in Puimala.
Highlights include "Beethoven in Puimala", featuring the composer´s magnificent seventh symphony, conducted by Jukka-Pekka Saraste and young guest conductors, as well as the final concert of the festival, which includes a brand new work by James Albany Hoyle, Rachmaninov´s third piano concerto, performed by special guest Boris Giltburg, and concluding with Sibelius´ symphony no. 5.
This special celebratory concert with the Fiskars Festival Orchestra takes place in Iso paja, Billnäs, on 3 August 2024, and will be conducted by Jukka-Pekka Saraste, Esa-Pekka Salonen and a young conductor selected from this year's masterclass.
