Mikko Alatalo’s extensive career includes 700 recorded songs, 600 of which were written together with Harri Rinne. He has also performed more than 6,000 gigs and released over 50 albums. The artist has received numerous accolades, including the Iskelmä-Finlandia award, and has appeared on the Finnish TV show Vain elämää .
Alatalo began his career with the band Juice Leskinen & Coitus Int and rose to fame as a solo artist with his debut album Maalaispoika oon in 1975. Over the course of his career, in addition to early Manserock, Alatalo has recorded everything from Syksyn Sävel hits and songs about northern Finland to ballads, country, schlager and children’s songs. His magnum opus is considered to be the Siirtomaa-Suomen laulut trilogy, released between 1978 and 1982.
