Bassekou Kouyate is a master of ngoni, the traditional Western Africal string instrument. The Malian artist has toured from New York’s Central Park to London’s Royal Albert Hall and from Glastonbury festival to Roskilde with his band Ngoni Ba. Kouyate has recorded for Glitterbeat and Outhere labels and performed with Sir Paul McCartney, John Paul Jones and Damon Albarn.
